St. Perpetua Trail to the Summit

2.7 mi out-and-back, 700 ft gain. Eleven switchbacks through Sitka spruce to the highest overlook on the Oregon coast (800 ft). 150-mile panoramic views from a 1934 CCC stone shelter. Dogs on leash. Park at Cape Perpetua Visitor Center (~5 min south of Yachats).

Captain Cook Trail → Thor's Well

Walk down from the Visitor Center to the coast via Captain Cook Trail (~1 mi to Thor's Well). Thor's Well — "drainpipe of the Pacific." High tide at 5:52 PM (5.4 ft) with ~5 ft swell — ideal conditions. Arrive by 5 to watch it build. Spouting Horn and Devil's Churn along the way.
